Chris Stork

Early British

Chris joined Maggs in 2009 and became a director of the company in 2015. He has degrees from the Universities of London and Exeter and his MA thesis examined sixteenth-century book collecting and the emergence of the private library. Chris works in the Early British department where he deals in books from the very beginning of printing in England through to the early 19th century as well as manuscripts and prints on a wide range of subjects. He is particularly interested in provenance and has sold books from the library of John Dee, Inigo Jones, Samuel Taylor-Coleridge and John Evelyn.
