"Having for a considerable period been attached to the Staff of the Spanish Army, I amused myself, during my leisure hours, in sketching the variety of costumes and military scenes which I have frequently witnessed. These triffling outlines I proposed placing in my private album; but by earnest persuasion of m friends I have been induced to publish them... These will, I believe, be the first of the kind presented to the public... [and] give an idea of what is actually happening in Spain"Very rare, no copies on OCLC. Not in Yale, BNE, BL. No copies sold as named items at auction for 30 years or so. We have located a copy in the Museo Zumalakarregi.
