Very rare: printed by the important Germantown printer, Christoph Sauer, this almanac contains the first illustration of a kangaroo printed in America.

While most of the illustrations in this piece are by Justus Fox, both the image of the kangeroo, and the text, are after that of Sydney Parkinson (1745-1771) who was a botanical draftsman on Cook's first voyage. The image was published in the offical account by John Hawkesworth (London, 1773). Parkinson's posthumously-printed account, A Journal of a Voyage to the South Seas, in His Majesty's Ship The Endeavour first appeared in the same year.

Evans 13332; Hildeburn, C.R. Pennsylvania, 3030; Drake, M. Almanacs, 1004; Botte & Tannhof. German printing, 435.
