A lovely signed copy of this stunning visual record of Thesiger's explorations, from the library of Sir Terence Clark. The book covers his travels in Iraq, Iran and the Arabian Peninsula, including his famed second crossing of the Empty Quarter and visit to Abu Dhabi in 1948.
Provenance: Sir Terence Clark (b.1934) had a long and distinguished career in the diplomatic service, much of which was spent in the Middle East. In addition to service in Bahrain, Jordan, Syria, Morocco and the United Arab Emirates, he was British Ambassador to Iraq (1985-89) and Oman (1990-94).
