Volume five inscribed by Nin to the front free endpaper: "For Kathy with friendship Anaïs".

Published during her lifetime, this edition is the first appearance of Nin's diaries, these are sometimes now referred to as the expurgated version, her widower and literary executor Rupert Pole published unexpurgated versions, which include more details of her relationships and personal life.

Volume 4, an advance copy, with publisher's slip.

Very good copies, most with some wear to the extremities of the jackets, and light fading to some of the spine panels. Volume 1 with an ownership inscription to front free endpaper. Volume 2, large tear along the top of the spine panel and top left of the front panel, with loss, creasing and wear along the edges of the jacket, and four additional tears to the spine panel, and rear panel, jacket price clipped, and ownership signature in pencil to front free endpaper, a good copy only. Volume 3 and 7, jackets price clipped.
