An exceedingly rare addition to the extraordinary tale of the disastrous colony at Port-Breton.

Sumien was one of two agents the Marquis de Rays hired to assist with his project. He joined the fraud two years after if had started and was also put in charge of the official newspaper, La Nouvelle France. This document is a lengthy appeal asserting his innocence, emphasising that he acted in complete good faith in accordance with the directives of the Marquis de Rays, and never profited himself.
